Propose a publication for our site
The publications on this site gather stories, profiles, archival finds, short biographies, reviews and family memories. They must follow the considerations set out below, and what they recount must be true and supported by verifiable sources.
What we are looking for
- Life stories of Latin American members, families or congregations.
- First-hand memories: missionaries arriving in a town, the building of a chapel, a journey to the temple.
- Finds from an archive or a family album that deserve to be told.
- Short reviews of books, documentaries or exhibitions.
- Profiles of little-known pioneers, women and men alike.
How it should reach us
- Roughly between 600 and 3,000 words, in Word. This is not a rigid limit: if the subject calls for it, the text may be shorter or longer.
- Spanish, Portuguese or English.
- If you mention living people, make sure you have their permission.
- We recommend Chicago style for referencing sources, though you may use another citation system if you prefer. Depending on the kind of text, formal citation is sometimes unnecessary; we do, however, always ask for honesty about the sources used: say where the facts come from or how they were gathered — a pioneer's testimony, an archival document, a family memory.
- You may attach photographs to accompany the text, with their caption and a credit for whoever keeps them.
- Please also include a short presentation of the author — a few lines will be enough — and a photograph of them.
What happens next
We read everything that arrives. If the text fits, we write to agree on editing and a publication date; if it does not, we reply all the same. Texts are published under the author's name.
